About Us

China HB is committed to bringing opinions about current news and events in the China Health Care sphere. The intent is for this to be a combination of work by both editors, bloggers, and guest bloggers. The main contributors are listed below:

Damjan DeNoble (Managing Editor/Contributor)

Damjan was born in the Former Yugoslavia, but moved to the Durham/Chapel Hill area,  in 1992.  After graduating from Duke University in May 2007 with a B.A. in Public Policy (and doing work mostly concentrated in the realm of  health policy) Damjan came to Beijing. Looking for a way to plug into the Beijing community, Damjan joined a fast growing restaurant business called the Kro’s Nest, and started working for free pizza. Fifteen months later, Damjan said his goodbyes to a wonderful China grassroots business experience and started doing various health consulting projects.  He will be enrolled at the University of Michigan Law School, starting in the fall of 2010.

James Flanagan (Managing Editor/Contributor)

After a few years of living in Singapore, James headed to Montreal to study at McGill where he received a B.Com in 2006. He jumped on the first plane back to Asia and landed in Beijing. After trying his hands at a couple of different projects, he focused on developing a consulting firm focusing on Asian IT/Biotech firms. Currently, James Flanagan spends most of his time with his laptop in Beijing, PRC, and Hong Kong, SAR.

Samuel Green (Writer)

Sam graduated in July of 2009 from the University of Manchester (UK), majoring in International Management. He first became interested in healthcare in 2007 after taking a module on Public Management. Since then he has completed an undergraduate thesis; ‘Comparative Study into the US, UK, German and Chinese Healthcare Systems: Lessons for China’, a study on what China can learn from examples of public, private and social insurance systems. After graduation Sam has been living in Shanghai, undertaking an internship and increasing his experience abroad. From 2011, Sam’s ambition is to join a graduate scheme for the National Health Service (UK), a private healthcare provider or a pharmaceutical firm. In the long-term he aims to consult on health policy internationally, especially in China.
